Session 1: OPENING BIDS, RESPONSES, and THE RULE of 20 to help you evaluate what to start the bidding in, and how to proceed as a partnership for the next bids. Session 2: Notrump opening, responses, and Jacoby Transfers to update you to today's better bidding. Included will be evaluation of when to do what. Tough decisions to make. Session 3: Getting into the auction from the other side using the TAKEOUT DOUBLE and how to proceed from there. Session 4: Opening above the one level with a preempt and how to respond and interfere with preempts. Session 5; STRONG HAND BIDDING: This will include playing difficult hands where one hand is very strong, and one hand is weak. Session 6: Responding to partner's opening bid with the NEGATIVE DOUBLE and how to proceed. For the afternoon class: intermediate to advancing players: I will provide a book for them at my expense: by Randall Baron and Frank Stewart, THE BRIDGE STUDENT TEXT Volume 3 Session 1; Counting the hand from all points of view, and planning the auction from step one. Session 2: understanding doubles, and redoubles and experience when to use them or use some other choices. Session 3: Inferences and visualization of what is happening at the table. Session 4: Competitive judgment and takeout doubles Session 5: Fine points of declarer play and deception. Session 6: score strategy and Modern conventions of interest by those enrolled in the course.
